Angle
ANGLE TYPES
Our holds come in three different angles: sloped, vertical and incut. Sloped holds are the most advanced to climb on, as the 30° angle requires good finger strength and technique. Vertical holds offer a flat surface and are fairly easy to grip, which makes them very versatile in their use on the climbing wall. Incut holds have a 15° angle towards the wall, offering a more stable grip and thus making them perfect for training on overhangs.
Stone type
NORWEGIAN GRANITE
All our holds, rails and hangboards with a stone edge use gray Norwegian granite. The granite is leftover stone from quarry digging that would otherwise be crushed into gravel, so we give it a second life as a climbing surface. Its naturally rough texture is easy to grip and prepares your skin for climbing on real rock outdoors.
Treatment
RAW WOOD / SHIELDED WOOD
We offer all of our stone woodies in two different surface finishes. We can leave the wood raw, so it stays lighter in color and results in a very natural looking aesthetic and you can profit from the friction of the wood when climbing. Shielding the wood makes the wood richer in color and makes the surface water repellent and removes the friction of the wood. If you plan on washing your holds regularly, we recommend getting shielded climbing holds.
Magnetic Inserts
Magnetic Inserts
Our magnetic inserts let you change the edge depth on our hangboards to suit each training session.
Each insert is 5 mm (0.2") thick and has a magnet on the back, so it attaches to the hangboard in seconds. Add or remove inserts to adjust the edge depth in 5 mm steps. The Stoak Board III and Board II come with 4 inserts.

ENGRAVING OPTION (**NOT AVAILABLE IN US/CA**)
If you want to add a little extra personalization to your brush, we've got you covered! Add up to 25 characters and we will put our laser engraver to work. This is also a great opportunity to add contact details, like phone number, in case your favourite brush gets lost.
Color
COLOR OPTION
To make your climb a bit more colourful, we add a color on our logo on the brushes. You get to choose which one. Can you find your favourite color?

In the beginning I realized that I forget to click on the angle for horizontal and left it on sloped. I was close to giving up and returning it, but my inner strength came through with help from the gym chalk, now I can hang on for a bit and pull myself up. This is a good quality skin prepping kit and I am quite happy with it.
Super useful tool for building and maintaining good skin, especially when local rock is not an option.
Last year, I used my set to prepare my skin for a trip to Västervik, which allowed me to climb from day 1 without worrying about damaging my skin on the Swedish granite. Since then I have been using the holds to keep my skin in good shape for projects on volcanic rock types that I cannot visit frequently, allowing me to take advantage of each session outside.
I've had this product for about two weeks now, and I really want to leave a good review, giving it plenty of second chances. However, there are some fatal flaws for what the product is intended to do, which is to prepare your skin for outdoor climbing.
Firstly, the angle is sloped quite aggressively to promote an open hand position. I'm realizing that, for skin preparation, this is not practical because it introduces too much shear force. That's exactly what you don't want when you're trying to prepare skin: to be potentially shearing skin while trying to promote skin growth and toughness. The obvious fix is to reduce the angle so that it's more level, which I've done as a temporary fix, but it's not a perfect solution because it changes the ergonomics of your hand position.
Secondly, which I think is the most unfortunate flaw: the surface of the granite is simply not textured enough. I'm not sure if this is by design or if I got a bad batch. In my experience, skin prep works best when the surface that your training from is a bit more rough and textured. Though it might be uncomfortable at first, and almost impractical to be utilizing as actual climbing holds, a rough texture has yielded the best results. The holds that I were sent simply don't provide the texture that can yield the best skin prep/farming results.
And lastly, I question the durability of the texture. I have been using the holds on a daily basis—albeit, at low intensity, meaning loading each hand with maybe 50 lbs (~60% of BW)—and notice that the texture is already getting smoother rather quickly. I can feel the textured sections crumbling away slowly with little tiny bits of granite fragments coming off on my finger tips after each use. I can already feel the product is much smoother than it was when I first received it, and so I question the durability of this product for longevity and long-term use.
Overall, I see so much potential in these holds. But until the issues above are addressed, I don't see that there is as much value in this product, especially for the premium that you're paying for.
From the wood to the stone, this is a high quality kit. With a little chalk and a few days prepping, I was finally able to hold on and do a few mini chin ups.
I don't think I can accurately express how much I love these holds. Sloper crimps are my favorite, so having a roughly 30mm hold at around 30° with great friction is a treat.
I have a Frictitious door mount and these holds fit nicely under my normal hangboard. A note for others with this setup: the screws are long so I'd recommend putting some scrap wood (at least 10mm in depth) behind where the screws will poke out.
Rather apprehensive at first. Because heck anyone can cut rock and glue it to wood…
But let me say, these are EXTREMELY high quality and well made. Love the finish granite to expose the skin to between outings!
Very much appreciated and 100% would recommend
Fantastic product.
I added it to my hangboard composed of multiple holds. You cannot get closer to having rock at home (or gym) than this. The rock feels very nice, massaging and making fingertips stronger at the same time.
Gave me instant progress.
Expensive but it is superior quality, so it definitely was worth its value :)
