Rubber bands made from natural latex
The rubber bands on our products are made from natural latex, a material that comes from rubber trees, instead of fully synthetic rubber.

Sustainability
Leftover granite from Norwegian quarries, FSC-certified wood, natural latex and organic cotton from Portugal. This is where our materials come from, and why we chose them.
Raw materials from Norway, Finland and the rest of Europe, not shipped across the world.
Our granite is rest material from quarry work in Norway. Stone that is already dug out.
FSC-certified wood from Finland and from FSC-certified European suppliers.
No mass production in China. We only go further away when there is no other option.
No robots in our production, and no plans for them. Real people, in Aarhus.
Our materials

The granite in our holds and hangboards is rest material from quarry work in Norway. Instead of cutting new stone, we give leftover pieces a second life on your wall. And granite lasts a lifetime: unlike plastic and moulded holds, it doesn’t wear out and end up in the bin.
Our wooden hangboards, holds and brushes are made from FSC-certified Finnish wood and wood from FSC-certified European suppliers. FSC certification means the wood comes from responsibly managed forests.

The rubber bands on our products are made from natural latex, a material that comes from rubber trees, instead of fully synthetic rubber.

Our clothing is made by one of the best clothing manufacturers in Portugal, in pure organic cotton. Made in small runs, not mass-produced, and not made in China.
Used in: Horizon T-shirt →Granite vs plastic
Most climbing holds are moulded from polyurethane or polyester resin: petroleum-based plastics that can’t be recycled. When the texture wears off, they are thrown out. Granite is stone. It keeps going.
Buy once, climb for a lifetime. Better for your gym or your home wall, and far better for the planet.
Example based on a plastic hold lasting 5–10 years with heavy use. Sources: Agripp (lifespan), Climbing Business Journal (materials and recycling).
Short-travelled
Made close to home
The small parts and raw materials we need for production come from local producers close to us. Our brushes, for example, are tied by hand in Denmark by the brush makers at Blindes Arbejde.
Our own products are designed, made and finished in our workshop in Aarhus, Denmark. Whenever there is a sustainable raw material we can use, we choose it.

Made by people, not robots
We don’t use robots in our production, and we have no plans to. Everything we make in-house is made by people, by hand.
So when you buy from Nature Climbing, you support the local community here in Aarhus, and you support our employees, who are climbers too.
“Sustainable raw materials whenever we can. Short transport whenever we can. And honest about it when we can’t.”
