Peter Tramm
How did you get started in the world of climbing?
When I was 10 years old, I was on vacation with my family when we came across an outdoor wall on Samsø. I remember a group of boys laughing and saying I wouldn't be able to reach the top because of my stump - but I proved them wrong. Much later in life - in 2021, to be exact - I was reintroduced to climbing and started bouldering from then on. It all happened in a short span of time: going from never climbing to climbing several times a week, making the national team, and competing in world cups along the way. A fast-paced and fun journey!
What climbing goals are you striving for now?
A short-term goal of mine is to place on the podium at an upcoming World Cup. When that happens, I'll feel satisfied and know that my training is paying off. After that, I am to qualify for the 2028 Paralympics, where Paraclimbing will make its debut.
Aside from that, my passion project is to inspire others to try climbing, even if it isn't the most obvious thing to do. Challenge yourself - that, to me, is the most important quality. Find your limitations, push them, and flourish.
What drew you to our brand?
One of the most important things to me, both as an individual and as an engineer, is sustainability and responsibility toward nature and local and global communities. Nature Climbing represents this within the climbing community, driving a connection between climbing's roots and our common passion: nature. Their focus on craftsmanship, quality over quantity, as well as responsible use of natural materials is what first drew me to the brand.
What's your favourite Nature Climbing piece of gear?
I love the new t-shirts - the orange shirt has become a crucial part of my weekly rotation. That being said, the Stone Hanger has become an essential part of my training. As someone who isn't able to use a hangboard, the Stone Hanger gives me the versatility that no other product has achieved.
Where can we find you?
You can find me lead climbing at Aarhus Klatreklub (Paraclimbing community meet-ups every Tuesday at 16:30), bouldering at Boulders City, or going for a run around Brabrand Lake when my coach tells me to rest my fingers. You can also follow my journey at the upcoming World Cups on my Instagram.
