Nina Arthaud
How did you get started in the world of climbing?
I started climbing at the age of 3 with my dad, who was also a climber at the time. We often went sport climbing outdoors, and I remember loving the climb up to the anchor. But once I got to the top, I didn’t want to come down because I was too scared to let go of the wall and trust my harness. I grew to love the sport and started practicing it more and more, exploring all its different aspects!
What climbing goals are you striving for now?
I have a variety of goals in climbing. I used to compete a lot, but now I’m really motivated by outdoor climbing. I’m driven to climb aesthetic boulders and routes that challenge me and push me to my limits. I also want to explore new places and discover new boulders & routes. What excites me most about climbing outdoors are the connections with others, so that’s something I always look forward to, whether it’s climbing with friends or meeting locals when I travel.
What drew you to our brand?
I heard about Nature Climbing through friends and other athletes connected to the brand. I tried a few of their products and instantly loved them! The connection with nature, the high quality, and attention to detail in their products are what I really appreciate about NatureClimbing.
What’s your favorite NatureClimbing piece of gear?
The portable hangboard “Stone Hanger” is my favorite. It’s an iconic product from the brand, and its small size is a huge advantage, making it easy to take with me wherever I go! I love using it to keep my skin conditioned for rock when I’m climbing indoors or to warm up before a session and enjoy the feel of rock from the start.
Where can we find you?
On a daily basis, you’ll find me at the University of Geneva, where I’m studying psychology, or at the climbing gym, whether I’m setting routes or training!
In my free time, I love climbing outdoors when the weather allows, often in Ticino or Valais, though I also enjoy exploring other places, like Italy :) If the weather isn’t great, I like going to concerts or learning new things, like sewing or video editing!
